Select the type rule to use

 

First, tell the Wizard that you want to create a new rule. In this example, there were no previously created rules, so the dialog box displayed in the center of the screen is empty.

Pick the type rule you want to create from the list in the dialog box. The scroll bar on the right of the window allows you to see other options. Specifying the type rule concerns when you want the rule to apply and what kind of issue it pertains to. These options provide a lot of choice and flexibility. When making these choices, consider the full package of rules that you have in effect, or plan to create, as a single message can be processed by multiple rules, depending upon how you set up the parameters.  That is, you could specify a rule to move an email to a folder, and subsequently apply a rule that moved it to a different folder.  This can become confusing!  Pay attention!
